Project Announcement - Duck Tape Pouches Sponsored by Westcott

Indie Craft Guru Marisa Pawelko of Modern Surrealist will be hosting a Westcott Brand sponsored project station at the upcoming Chicago Craft Social! Marisa will be teaching crafters a fun and easy project featuring Westcott Titanium Bonded Non Stick Scissors! Making clever use of Duck Tape® Brand Duct Tape (rolls and sheets) and VELCRO® Brand Sticky Back Hook and Loop Fasteners, Marisa designed these nifty pouches that can be used for change, cosmetics, electronics, sunglasses, travel and more! They’re totally versatile, customizable, and downright crafty! Be sure to grab your goodie bag at the event which will include everything you need to make more of these groovy pouches at home! For Home, Office, Crafting and School!

Westcott began in 1872 as a ruler company and was then bought by Acme United Corporation, located in Connecticut. Over the years the Westcott brand has grown to become the "World’s Favorite Scissors Brand" whose innovative designs have reached across many other product lines. Westcott is always thinking of new ways to push the limits of cutting edge innovation as can be seen by their exclusive new line of cutting tools with Non-Stick blades!
In addition to achieving a "Good Design Award" for their electric pencil sharpeners, Westcott is a pioneering leader in many other product categories including: paper trimmers, math tools, rulers, hobby knives and more!

Meet celebrity crafter Marisa Pawelko winner of the CHA Indie Craft Contest and host of America’s Next Top Crafter™. Armed with a formal education in furniture design, Marisa used her talents to design products for the gift, toy, fashion and accessories markets before turning her focus to the craft industry. In 2005, sparked with an idea to create a recycled baby memento-keeper out of one of her son’s baby food jars, she founded Modern Surrealist LLC, which quickly developed an international following. Marisa enjoys inspiring crafters on her “Memoirs of a Modern Surrealist” blog with thrifty project ideas for “upcycling” ordinary objects, into extraordinary custom creations! Her work has been featured by PBS, HGTV, Illinois State Museum and in countless exhibitions and high end boutiques around the world.
